Bike rental

How can I rent a bike from you?

It’s very easy! You reserve your bike in advance via our website. This way you are assured of availability and you can set off as soon as you arrive.

What are the rental times?

Please look at the booking calendar to see the actual renting times.

Are there also bikes for children?

At the moment we only rent bikes for adults (from 1.55m). We do not have separate children’s bikes or seats for younger children.

What is the difference between a city bike and an e-bike?

A city bike is ideal for relaxed rides through the city. An e-bike has electric pedal assistance – handy if you want to cover longer distances or are looking for some extra comfort. Both options are comfortable and reliable.

Do I need a credit card?

Yes, a credit card is required as a deposit for renting a bike. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a bike without a credit card.

Do you also offer accessories?

Certainly! You can also rent extras from us:

– Double panniers – €5.00
– Phone holder – €5.00

Where do I pick up and return the bike?

Our location is in the heart of Rotterdam, close to famous sights and easily accessible by both public transport and bicycle. Ideal as a starting point for your discovery tour of the city!

What if it rains?

Rain in the Netherlands is always possible… but with a coat and a smile you can get far 😉. Cancellation due to rain is only possible according to our general terms and conditions. Contact us for the possibilities.

Bike tours

Do I need to bring my own bike?

We provide comfortable and well-maintained bikes. We also have electric bikes available. You can also bring your own bike or book an extra one. We also have different sizes and models of bikes, from small to large!

What if the weather is bad?

• Tours will continue in all weather conditions, rain or shine. The exception is a weather alarm code red.
• We reserve the right to postpone the start time of a tour by a maximum of 60 minutes.
• In case of light and sporadic rain, ponchos will be provided. In case of heavy rain, we will convert the bike tour (in consultation) into a city walk and include various covered locations in the route. In case of rain, take an umbrella with you to be on the safe side.

You can cancel or change the tour free of charge up to 24 hours before the planned departure time of the tour. • Rescheduling is subject to our availability.

• Within 24 hours of the scheduled tour departure time, there is a 100% cancellation fee.

+15% Trip Protection Upgrade

For open enrollment tours:

This upgrade allows you to cancel your tour up to 30 minutes before departure and receive a full refund (minus the protection fee). Standard cancellations require 24 hours notice.

For private tours:

This upgrade allows you to cancel your tour up to 24 hours before departure and receive a full refund (minus the protection fee). Standard cancellations require 14 days notice.

The daily Highlights bike tour is given in English. For the private tours you choose English, Dutch or German. Other languages ​​are available on request. The self-guided tours are available in Dutch and English.

Can I book last-minute?

Walking tours

Do I need special clothing or shoes?

Clothing doesn’t matter, as long as you feel comfortable. However, we do recommend wearing comfortable, easy-to-break-in shoes, as you will be walking a lot.

In which languages are the tours given?

The public Street Art Tour is only given in English. For the public Rooftop Tour you choose English or Dutch. For the private tours you choose English, Dutch or German. Other languages ​​are available on request. The self-guided tours are available in Dutch and English.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

Only the roof tour is not wheelchair accessible. The water taxi during the food tour is also not wheelchair accessible, but we could adjust the route so that the food tour is wheelchair accessible.

The length varies between 1 and 4 hours. So there is something for everyone, and if you have less time than the indicated duration, we can often tailor the route to your needs and shorten it.

Are the food tours suitable for children?

Our tours are standard for ages 12 and up, but our food tours are also suitable for younger guests.

What dishes can I expect?

The tastings range from savoury and sweet snacks to local specialities, depending on the tour you choose. Think of Rotterdam cheese, artisanal chocolate and street food.

How long do the food tours last?

The food tours last about 4 to 4.5 hours. Enough time between each stop to see and enjoy the sights. We can also adjust the duration in a Custom Food Tour.

Yes! The various snacks together form an extensive lunch or a hearty snack meal.

Self-guided tours

How do I install a smartphone route?

1. Choose the route you want to explore and book it via the calendar on the tour page.
You’ll receive a confirmation email with a unique code. This code is your ticket to activate the route in the app. Once you’ve purchased a route, you can use it as many times as you like.

2. In the email, you’ll find a link to our web app.
Click this link on your smartphone. Then, add the web app to your home screen so it functions like a regular app. Not sure how to do that? Watch this video for step-by-step instructions.

3. Open the app, select your route, and enter the unique code to unlock it.
When prompted, be sure to allow location access — a pop-up will appear asking for permission.

4. After you grant location access, a dot will appear on the map showing your exact position.
The route is clearly marked, making it easy to follow.

5. As you get close to each stop, you’ll receive a notification.
At every stop, you can read the story in your selected language. This way, you’ll not only see the highlights of the city but also learn more about Rotterdam as you go!

How many people can you do the route with?

The route is intended for groups of 4 people. This way everyone can participate and read or listen to the information at each stop. Is the group larger than 4 people? No problem! Then buy a second route, so that everyone can follow everything well in two groups. This is like 1 route per group of 4 people.

Is the app saying that your location is denied access?

For iPhone:

1. Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Privacy and security’ > ‘Location Services’.

2. Make sure ‘Location Services’ is turned on.

3. Scroll down to find the app.

4. Tap the app and select ‘While Using the App’: Only grants access to ‘Location Services’ when the app or a feature of it is visible on the screen. If an app is configured as ‘While Using the App’, you may see the status bar turn blue and a message appear that an app is actively using your location.

You can now reinstall the web app on your mobile and the route should work fine.

For Android:

1. Open Settings .

2. Tap Location .

3. Turn Use Location on or off.

Now you can reinstall the web app on your mobile and the route should work.

Can I use the route on multiple devices?

No, the bike is included in the price of the bike tour!

How can I book a school trip?

You can book the tour via our website or by email. We recommend booking at least 72 hours in advance.

What age range are the tours suitable for?

Our tours are suitable for high school students and university and college students. We adapt the content and style to the group.

How long are the tours?
